Day eighty - Whitley Pike to Mozie Law

 May 19th May.

A beautiful morning, warm, dry - there was some rain overnight - and sunny, had to get out of the tent it was too hot!

Over Whitley Pike and Pardon Hill to Brown Rigg Head before a long trek through the forest to Byrness.

There is a little church at Byrness that was definitely worth going for a look.

There is a window to commemorate the building of the Catcleugh Reservoir.

Up Byrness Hill and onto moorland again, this time The Cheviots.

A few miles further and I was in Scotland, well at least walking along the border.

There was a Roman camp at Chew Green, little to see except some earth banks. 

Sheep guarding the bridge over the only decent water on the way.

I met someone who said I should camp before I met the heather, of course I kept going and found it very hard to find a pitch.

Found a semi flat spot with a trickle of brown water that was excellent for the night.

20.5 miles walked 1000 meters ascent.
