Day sixty nine - The White House to Hebden Bridge

 8th May.

Started to rain as I woke up and was quite heavy by the time I was ready to go. Contrary to the weather forecast it almost stopped after a couple of hours and the rest of the day, although remaining gray, was very pleasant.

Looking back to the White House
Just a short walk today, I had accomodation booked for tonight and was a bit closer than I expected to be.

A string of reservoirs gave an interesting walk towards Langfield Common where the way turned to Stoodly Pike.
Stoodly Pike Monument appeared through the mist.
It is a huge structure and there is a gallery above the base section accessable by an internal spiral staircase.
Note the size by the person beside it
Down to Hebden Bridge to with plenty of time to browse the market and restock for the next section, which looks a little bare of shops and catch up with communications.
Hebden Bridge

9 miles walked 250 meters ascent.
