Day eighty four - Jedburgh to The Eildon Hills

23rd May.

The day started bright and sunny and there were sunny intervals all day with an increasing wind.

Back to St Cuthbert's Way through the lanes and fields to the River Teviot that was crossed by a bouncy suspension bridge.
The Way then follows the old Roman road of Deer Street, a straight line through the fields to St Boswell's, although the way wanders off in a big beautiful loop following the River Tweed.
There is a nice café/bookshop in St Boswells, that I forgot to take a picture of, where I ate too much cake.
A bit more of the Tweed then to Newton St Boswells, Bowden and a climb to the Eildon Hills.
Bowden
There is nowhere to camp in Melrose so I parked my tent on a flatish but very draughty spot high on Eildon Hill North.

19.5 miles walked 700 meters ascent.
