Day seventy nine - Twice Brewed to Whitley Pike

 18th May.

It had rained overnight but the day dawned dry with light cloud and warm.

Hard work first thing, climbing back to Hadrian's wall and then along a particularly switch back section before turning north on the Pennine Way and heading across the moors again.

Through a variety of scenery then, moor, forest, agricultural land etc.
To arrive at Bellingham on the River North Tyne.
A late lunch/ early dinner in a café and some gas from an excellent hardware store that seems to sell everything and has a co-op next door.
Bellingham
Off up Highstead Hill and over the moors, this time heather and peat to Lords Shaw where I found a flattish spot near Whitley Pike.

21 miles walked 800 meters ascent.
