Day eighty six - Innerleithan to Over Phawhopr

 25th May.

A bright start to the day that continued with sunny intervals and a light breeze, very hot in the sun.

Had a bacon roll and a cup of tea on the way through Innerleithan to Traquair.
A long climb up Blake Muir, over a couple of bumps and into the forest.
The grass in the forest glades was long and I had wet feet for the first time in ages.
A short climb through the hills and then down to St Mary's Loch.

A nice walk around the lake and past Tibbie Sheils, which is no longer a pub, to the café which was open but the kitchen was closed.
They had tea and cakes anyway so suitably fortified I climbed up Earls Hill and Pikestane Rig on the way to Scabcleugh (great names).
There is a very long six mile walk up the road to Over Phawhope bothy to be met by a very uncomunicative cyclist who was also staying.
Getting late on the road to Over Phawhope

Bothy interior

Over Phawhope Bothy
Rather a long day.

25.5 miles walked 1200 meters ascent.
