22nd May.
A dark cloudy morning when, after getting my hair cut, Nessa and Michael took me back to Kirk Yethholm to continue the walk on St Cuthbert's Way.
Looking back to Kirk Yethholm |
After a gentle walk beside the river the Way climbs steeply up to Wideopen Hill and down the other side to Morebattle.
There is a community shop at Morebattle selling most things including coffee and ice cream, very tasty. The Way continues, without to many ups and downs, through some rich agricultural land and past Cessford Castle.
On through woodland and fields to the Border Abbeys Way.Where I headed for the campsite at Jedburgh and some fish and chips by the Abbey.
