7th May.
The day started very gray with low cloud but dry, slowly lifting to a warm day with hot sunny intervals.
Up by Rakes Rocks, Ladder Rocks and Roundhill Moss to Black Hill. All sounds good but couldn't see any of it properly.

Looking down into the cloud |
The cloud lifted from Black Hill onwards and by the time I reached the burger van parked conveniently where the PW crosses the A635 at Wessenden head the sun was coming out.

Flagstone path |
|
Convenience food. |
Onward across Black moss between a string of reservoirs to the A62 where the LDWA had a checkpoint for one of their challenge events.
|
Hang glider over Standedge |
After walking along Standedge there was another road crossing, the A640, followed by a climb over White Hill.
The café at the A672 crossing was closed but it wasn't far to the M62 crossing.
|
M62 bridge |
The traffic was thundering along the motorway but I was soon away from it going along Blackstone Edge.
Down to The White House pub, I noticed a good place to pitch a few hundred yards before the pub so, after filling the fuel tank. I retired for the night.

Sun going down over Manchester |
18 miles walked 1000 meters ascent.
