28th April
A good night despite the barking sheepdogs.
Low cloud but a dry day after some rain last night.
Up the Watkin path to Snowdon, half the route in the cloud.
The top section of this path is very steep and loose.
Arrived at the top and there were about 40 people milling about in the mist with a collection of Herring Gulls waiting to be fed.
It doesn't take them long to realise where the food is.
The café at Pen-Y-Pass was empty, everyone was on the hill, so after a lonely lunch I set off up the Glyders.
Looking back to Pen-Y-Pass |
The tops were, as usual, in the cloud but only just so after scrambling around the huge boulders on both tops I had some great views on the way down around the back of Tryfan.Camped at Idwal Cottage, excellent value as you get to use all the hostel facilities.
13 miles walked 2100 meters ascent.
