Day eighty five - Eildon Hills to Innerleithan

 24th May.

The day started sunny again after a windy, lumpy, sloping night. It stayed sunny for most of the day but with quite a strong NW wind which kept the temperature down to good walking levels.

Down the hill to Melrose past a new carved bench to a café for second breakfast.
Along the River Tweed then to Galashiels where a few supplies and a third breakfast were had at Tesco's.
Over Hog Hill and back to the Tweed before starting the climb to the Three Brethren.
The three brethren

Along the ridge then past Broomy Law and Brown Knowe.
To Hare Law and Minch Moor.
Before descending through the forest to Innerleithan and across the River Tweed again to the campsite.

21 miles walked 1000 meters ascent.

Hello Allan,
The three cairns, known as the Three Brethren, were built in the 16th century to mark the boundary of the the Yair, Philliphaugh and Selkirk lands
