Day one hundred and thirteen - Craig to Kinlochewe

 21st June.

Heavy rain overnight with thunder. The morning though was mostly dry, just a couple of showers.

The other two guys in the hostel last night decided that one night was enough, l thought  it was a great place made even more interesting by the eccentric owner. Simon is just as 'interesting' as his father Gerry was!
A steep climb up a path overgrown with very wet shrubs and small trees was a good wake up shower.
Loch Carron
There is a good track further up that leads to open ground and  the Coulin pass with great views of the Achnashellach and Torridon Munros in the cloud.
My trousers were just drying nicely after the last shower when the path went down towards Kinlochewe through some head high bracken and more shrubs leaving me soaked again.
Yes I should have been wearing waterproof trousers but it was too warm.
Kinlochewe Hotel (closed)
The Post Office and shop at Kinlochewe is just as bad as the reviews say; poorly stocked and grubby with very unfriendly staff, avoid. The filling station, shop and little café just up the road however we're completely the opposite. Stayed there drinking and eating until I got thrown out when the café closed at three.
A few miles further on, just past the Heights Of Kinlochewe, I found a good spot to camp above the river.
A short day but the stopping places are a bit limited on this section of the route so it ties in well with the next few days.

14.5 miles walked 700 meters ascent.
