Day one hundred and eleven - Sheil Bridge to Maol Bhuidhe

 19th June.

A wet midgy start to the day, the forecast being rain all day with little wind.

I wanted a few bits from the shop and as it didn't open until 10am I stayed in the tent dozed, caught up with the blog and various other messages.
I actually bought petrol from this pump in the fim distant past!

Along to the shop and the café next door was just opening and as the rules say I can't pass an open café, breakfast was called for.

Got away eventually about 11 o'clock and by that time the rain was down to a gentle drizzle, jacket off and it stayed that way all day, the wind picked up to.
Managed to waste twenty minutes by going the wrong way on a signposted tourist trail!
Found the correct route and emerged from the trees to climb up and over the hill to the head of the Falls Of Glomach.
There was little water in the river so the falls weren't at their best but, by mistake, I went down to the viewpoint for a look and then had to climb back to the path.
The path down to the glen is steep and awkward with some dramatic drops to the river.
A good track up Glen Elchaig to Iron Lodge then a steep rough track north by the An Crom-allt.
Which deteriorates into a mixture of path and bog as it goes over the bealach and down to Maol Bhuidhe Bothy.

There was one other person on the bothy, also walking the CWT, Bea a recent graduate in Russian who, unsurprisingly with the current political situation, can't find a job. She had left Shiel Bridge at six and been sitting in the bothy for four hours with nothing to do, so leaving late maybe wasn't so bad!

Evening view from the bothy
The bothy is very smart and there are more ongoing improvements, definitely four stars.

18 miles walked 1300 meters ascent.
