Day ninety nine - Port Ellen to Tarbert

 7th June.

The day started grey and overcast but like yesterday slowly cleared so by mid afternoon it was bright and sunny.

Ferry at Kennacraig
A short walk to the ferry for a smooth crossing and good breakfast before arriving at back at Kennacraig where I had left for my four day 'holiday' on the islands.
I didn't want to do the short walk along the busy road to Tarbert so took to the hills again.
West Loch Tarbert.
A slight difficulty as I was following the 1:25000 map which shows a track exiting the forest but in reality, and on the 1:50000, the forest extends on past the track making the exit to the hill interesting.
It was very slow going over the hill on tussock grass, bog and heather to Cnoc a' Bhaile-shios.
And down to the forestry track which is the last bit of The Kintyre Way leading to Tarbert.
Tarbert
The puffer VIC 32 was in the harbour smoking away improving the ambience.

A short walk but it allowed me to clean up, remove the ticks and do the shopping for the next few days.

10.5 miles walked 600 meters ascent.
