GR11 Day 41 Talaixà to Albanyà

15th June.

Tried for an early start, everything was dry, but as the sun came up it started to get damp which delayed me a bit trying to get the tent as dry as possible.

Beautiful morning
An interesting route down to Sant Aniol d'Aguja parts of it clinging to the rock face.

On the edge
Sant Aniol d'Aguja was a Benedictine monastery established in the 9th century but now not much more than a ruin that has been in the process of restoration for years.
Sant Aniol d'Aguja
There was a notice saying that they sold cans of fizz for €3 but no sign of anyone.
Bouncy bridge
A good bouncy bridge over the river and the start of a long climb up through trees to today's high-point, at 1126 meters this was the last time I will be above 1000 meters on this walk.
Views over the trees
All the way down to Albanyà then, mostly in the sun, the last section down the concrete road with extra reflected heat.
A cactus growing in the wild
Temperature in Albanyà 33°. Staying at the Albergue la Rectoria, Thank God for the shower.
