Day one hundred and eight - Cona Glen to A' Chuil Bothy

16th June.

Great start to the day, sunny but bug free (nearly).

Up the good path and over to Callop on unusually dry ground.
There was a wild fire near Spean Bridge that had been started by the lightning the other day and there was a smoke haze in the glens.
The foot bridge across the river at Glenfinnan was damaged by floods last winter and has not been replaced so I was forced to walk down the road. No hardship as there is a wide mown strip all the way.
There were hundreds of people at Glenfinnan all waiting to see the steam train go over the 'Harry Potter Viaduct', very strange, they all went back to their cars, motor homes and buses after it had passed (pushed by a diesel locomotive) all very happy!
Had a cup of tea and a bun at the visitor center before walking up the glen past Corryhully bothy and over the pass to Gleann a' Chaorainn.
It was extremely hot again and the forecast showers never appeared.
I wandered lonely as a cloud
Once over the pass l had to remove my trousers to try to cool down and then spent most of the time swatting the flies and clegs on my legs! (Clegs are Scottish horse flies)
I had decided to stay in A' Chuil Bothy for the night as it may be cooler than the tent and an escape from insects.

Not much cooler but at least I had a table to sit at and no bugs. A nice swim in the river too.

17.5 miles walked 900 meters ascent.
