Day sixteen - Hoareoak Water to Wheddon Cross

Drizzle in the morning but I had a really good night, just a pity that I had to put soggy socks and shoes on to get some water for porridge.

Better than last night

Back up the path then over and down to Exford for supplies.

Exford is a really traditional Exmoor village, beautiful. I got distracted by the Exmoor White Horse and had some soup there.

While sitting the dry I was tempted into looking for somewhere equally dry for tonight so booked a room in Wheddon Cross.

Up into the cloud and onto the moor again.

Are you in the right place?

Up to Dunkery Beacon, no visibility.
Dunkery Beacon

Then soggy tracks to reach a bridle path, that was ankle deep in mud, to the Rest And Be Thankful, no not that one.

19.5 miles walked 800 meters ascent

Glad to catch up with you. You are certainly eating up the miles. Andy

Well done Roger. Sue and I are now following you from a lovely barn conversion near Bridport.
Congratulations on combating the ‘weather’!
Remember the value of having an occasional day off…
