13th March.
It was a good thing I had a roof over my head last night and at one point even that sounded slightly insecure.
The Anchor Inn Hartland |
Still very windy so I took some country lanes to join the coast path a little further from Hartland Point, to avoid the most exposed bit.
The Way here was a very muddy, slippery path that still went up and down like a yo yo but was now so well sheltered by shrubby trees that I couldn't see the sea!
A gap in the trees |
Out of the trees and onto easier ground I came to Westward Ho!, not my idea of a holiday destination. Round the point and Appledore is very different.
Appledore |
Excellent, cheap, meal in a big hotel tonight!
20 miles walked 700 meters ascent.
