Day 3 Glen Etive to Kinlochleven
A very damp dewy night and the morning sun was hidden behind the hills so I had to just stuff the damp sleeping bag and wet tent into my rucksack and head off up the road.

A damp but beautiful morning |
It was a beautiful morning and stayed that way all day, almost too hot! I met a couple of other TGOers as we climbed up to the Lairig Gartain, they had the same problem finding a site last night but had gone a bit further.

A wooded path up from Glen Etive |
The view back to Glen Etive was spectacular and well worth the climb, I had considered continuing on the road which would have been the wrong decision.

View down Glen Etive |
I wanted to get to the Kinlochleven campsite in plenty of time so I could get everything dried in the sunshine and overtook hordes of West Highland Way walkers on the Devils Staircase some of whom we're lunching in the heather in the almost Spanish weather.

Buchaille Etive Mor |
I think I went too fast because I arrived an hour before the check-in opened.

Walkers on the West Highland Way |
Into the pub just in time for a light lunch and book a table for dinner tonight.

The tailrace trom the hydro |
The sunshine and a light breeze soon dried out my gear and I had an interesting discussion about tents suitable for New Zealand with a couple of campers.
