Day thirty three - Glyntawe to Moel Gornach

Overcast all day but the rain stayed away, a little low cloud on the tops occasionally but generally a fine walk with great views.

Looking back to Glyntawe

I could see Dunkery Beacon on Exmoor better today than I could when I was standing on it. The Preseli Hills and the coast to St David's? were visible although hazy.

Dippers playing in the river in the morning, skylarks singing and a Red Kite patrolling the ridge all day looking for DoE carrion, there were a lot of people about.

A rather pointless detour, following the Beacons Way, down to Llanddeusant and back up to the ridge was followed by some interesting limestone scenery but without the flowers, too early. There was no running water, even after all the rain, everything vanishing into sink holes. The hill must be like a Swiss cheese!

Note the sinkhole

Found a nice pitch, the wind died and it was incredibly quiet, no water sounds, no animals (the sheep are off the hills for lambing) and then heard a snipe drumming, made my day 😃

15 miles walked 1500 meters ascent
