Day 49, Waimarino to Monument (1216)
It was a beautiful morning when I left the Hostel for the short walk to the café for a cup of coffee to supercharge me for the day.

| Across the railway |
Off on the Fisher Track then which has a good surface all the way to Monument.
| Good gravel surface |
The scenery was magnificent all the way, varying from bush to farmland and was basically all downhill, starting at 826 and going down to 211 meters.
| Long view |
| Interesting trees |
We arrived at the campsite and got the tents up before it started to rain. The group that we are canoeing the river with were already there, most of them people that I had already met at other places on the trail including Charlie.
| Lunch break |
It is an excellent camp with a large covered kitchen dining area and a good shower, perfect for the rainy evening.
| Beautiful path down the hill |
A good evening was had by all.
| Old machinery by the track |
| What have you got in your tent? |
I think it could be a week before I can put anymore posts on this blog as there is no phone signal on the river.
