Day one hundred and thirty two - Strath Halladale to Melvich

 July 9th.

A humid night with some light rain turning heavy for a short time in the morning then dry overcast and warm.

Another short day (again?, what are you doing?) just down Strath Halladale.
There is a footpath on the map that avoids the 'main' road but I couldn't see any sign of it.
I regained the minor road on the west side after a short distance and continued on that until it ended at a sawmill.
Had it not been a Sunday it would probably not have been possible to access the track through the yard.
The track vanished into a mass of bracken and gorse but it was possible to get round/through that bit to a better used section.
Through more agricultural land until the track became a road at Kirkton farm with a pair of Kunekune pigs to greet me.
The main road then to Melvich where I walked on to Portskerra and a little café where I spent some time chatting to a postman from Orkney who was on a cycling holiday.
Back to the campsite to get showered and fed. The shop isn't open on Sundays so as my food bag is empty l had to eat in the pub.

12 miles walked 200 meters ascent.
