Sabinanigo to Bujaruelo, 30th Aug
Started off early to walk to the bus station then realised that I had left my toothbrush behind. Back to the hostel and start again!
Morning from Sabinanigo |
There were very few signs of life in the town but I did find one little bar / restaurant that was open for a coffee and croissant before the bus left.
The centre of Sabinanigo |
I was worried that the bus would be full as you can't book in advance but it had very few passengers. It is a very interesting journey as the road winds up into the hills with some tricky bits for a bus.
Torla |
Torla is beautiful old village, only a bit spoilt by tourism, but another coffee and croissant powered me on up the path towards Odessa.
The way up |
I used an interesting high path the last time I walked from Bujaruelo but I missed the start of it so continued up the road / track beside the river.
Up the roadway |
There was little traffic so it was a very pleasant journey. I didn't have to get to the Refugi until 16.00 for the briefing so took the opportunity to sit under a sunshade at Bujarelo Camping for a while before finishing the walk to the Refugi.
View from Bujaruelo camping |
The car park was packed and the camping area nearly full, very different to the last time I was here when I was stuck for a day by a downpour and nearly washed out of the campsite.
Bujaruelo |
I walked down the other side of the river to the footbridge as I was too early for the briefing, this was the path I should have taken on the way up.
Bridge over the river |
Back for the briefing where I found out l will be the only one going tomorrow, no problem keeping up with the others!
Old bridge at Bujaruelo |
Forecast is for a bit of rain in the afternoon tomorrow but fine for the rest of the week.

Evening at Bujaruelo |
